Systemantics In A Glance

“A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked. A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work. You have to start over with a working simple system.”

This saying was taken from the book book Systemantics: How Systems Work and Especially How They Fail. This passage is quoted from the book author himself – John Gall.

The first paragraph is sort of complicated but it really applies on the game of poker. Your development as a poker player starts on the very basic steps. Big things start from a small start.

We have the mentality to want all the things we want on instant. We read books concerning poker in the hopes that we’ll be a successful player once we started to play relying on our knowledge to play the game. But the thing is, we cannot become an established player in this world if we only read books. The important factors in this aspect is to have the patience to learn and practice the right way to play poker.

What you should do then? Its time for you to find the core strategies that you can develop. And not to make complex moves that will just ruin your game. Your advance game plays will be worthless once your core strategies have flaws.

Here are the basic skill for your core strategy:

1.Determine the beginning hand attributes
2.Know how to use aggression acceptably
3.Comprehend the strengths and weaknesses of positioning
4.The meaning of odds

These core skills are the basic elements in poker. You must learn these skills before you made any move.

Those are the skill you need to fight in the lower limit games. Knowing advance strategies is a hinder on this level. The most productive method is the straightforward type of play which is imminent on lower limits. There’s no need to learn complicated strategies, this will just hamper your progress.

And if you’re already familiar with your core strategies and have practice it on the table, then you can infuse the advance strategies that you know.

And if you’re still running low when you play, think about throwing what you learned and then start from scratch. This will help you learn the right way.
